I have exchanged the cords and graphics card ports between the monitors to no avail. newmode/addmode errors out and I don't know what to do from here. I have tried updating drivers, power cycling, and newmode/addmode. My flatmate's old monitor shows up as an "Unknown Display" without an EDID and the resolutions are incorrect. My monitor is recognised and the resolutions are correct. My flatmate's old monitor is exactly the same model, just made the year before. I recently took my newer monitor, my old monitor and my flatmate's old monitor to setup a 3 monitor workflow. The solution to this has been updating drivers, power cycling, or xrandr newmode/addmode. In the past, sometimes I would randomly have a monitor not be properly detected or not have the correct resolution. Hello all, I've been using arch and gnome for about 10 years now.
